Milwaukee-area union families

Virtual intensive outpatient support for Milwaukee union families.

If you work a shift, drive a route, or run a household in the Milwaukee area, real treatment should not mean disappearing for a month. Shift is a virtual intensive outpatient program for substance use and co-occurring mental health, built around a working schedule. Start with a call, and we will verify your specific benefits before you commit to anything.

Where we stand

The honest version.

We are out of network with commercial carriers, and in-network credentialing is in progress. Many Milwaukee-area workers carry a union health and welfare plan layered on top of a commercial network, and those plans often include an out-of-network behavioral benefit. We verify your specific benefits and tell you the real out-of-pocket number before you start. We do not waive cost-shares and we do not tell you treatment is free.

Built for a working week

Treatment that fits around the job, not against it.

Virtual intensive outpatient is designed for working adults: morning, afternoon, and evening cohorts, all by secure video. It is an outpatient program, not a residential facility, so there is no leaving the family or the job site.

Keep your shift and your privacy

Attend from a private space at home or before or after a shift. Substance use treatment records are protected under 42 CFR Part 2, a stronger federal privacy standard than ordinary medical records, so seeking help does not have to follow you around.

We handle the benefits call

Send us the front of your card and any plan or fund materials. We read the plan document, pull the actual out-of-network behavioral numbers, and translate them into what a week of care would cost you.

Coverage in Wisconsin

Union health and welfare plans, and Anthem BCBS Wisconsin.

A large share of working adults in the Milwaukee area carry Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield of Wisconsin, often with a union health and welfare plan layered on top. Those layered plans can include a richer out-of-network behavioral benefit than a standard commercial PPO. The plan document is the source of truth, and we read it with you.

Questions Milwaukee families ask first

Plain-English answers.

Is Shift in-network with my plan?

No. We are out of network with commercial carriers, and in-network credentialing is in progress. Many plans include an out-of-network behavioral benefit, and a union health and welfare plan layered on top can make that benefit richer. We verify yours specifically before you commit.

I have a union health and welfare plan. Does that change anything?

Often in your favor. Multiemployer health and welfare plans frequently rent network access from a carrier and then layer their own out-of-network behavioral coverage on top. The plan document, not the carrier brochure, is what we read. Send us the front of your card and any plan-issued materials.

Do I have to travel for treatment?

No. The entire program is virtual. You attend from a private space at home or around your shift. It is a fully telehealth outpatient program.

Will my employer find out?

No. Substance use treatment records are protected under 42 CFR Part 2. We do not release information to your employer without your written consent, except where the law requires it or safety is at risk.

How fast can I start?

Typically same or next business day for the clinical assessment, and within the same business week for program start, once benefits and any authorization are confirmed.

Start with a call.

Tell us a little about the situation and we will verify your specific benefits and tell you the real cost before you decide anything. Same-day callback during business hours, no commitment.

If you or someone you’re with is in immediate danger, call or text 988 (the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline) or call 911. Shift Support Network is an outpatient program and is not an emergency service.
