Home / What we do / Trauma and PTSD IOP
Trauma and PTSDTrauma and PTSD IOP for adults, in the evening.
A virtual intensive outpatient program for trauma and post-traumatic stress. Groups Monday to Friday, 5:30 to 8:30 PM Pacific, plus a weekly individual session.
Pace is a clinical decision, not a schedule.
Trauma work moves at the speed a person can hold. Fifteen group hours a week gives the week a shape. The weekly individual session carries the harder material. The clinical screen decides whether outpatient care is the right level for you.
Two different programs.
New York and New Jersey
Mental health IOP. Trauma and PTSD treated on their own, with clinicians licensed in your state.
California
Substance use and co-occurring mental health, treated together. DHCS certification 191663AP: outpatient at ASAM 1.0, IOP at ASAM 2.1, ambulatory withdrawal management.
Drinking and using are often the coping.
Treat the trauma and leave the drinking alone and it comes back. Treat the drinking and leave the trauma alone and it comes back. In California the same team holds both.
Hybrid, not a video-only program.
Groups
Monday to Friday, 5:30 to 8:30 PM Pacific, by secure video. Fifteen group hours a week.
In person
Optional in-person intensives in California, alongside the weekly video sessions.
Licensed clinicians, small evening groups.
Group
Grounding, sleep, anger, relationships and relapse prevention. Skills, not disclosure.
Individual
Trauma-focused work with your own clinician, weekly, at a pace the two of you agree.
What people ask first.
Do I have to tell my story in group?
No. Group is skills and support. The detail of what happened belongs in your individual session, at the pace you and your clinician set.
Is a video group safe for trauma?
For many people it is the easier room to be in, because they are at home. Tell us your concerns on the screen so your clinician plans for them in week one.
Can I keep my current trauma therapist?
Yes. With your written consent we coordinate with them. The two pieces of work line up instead of competing.
What about my medication?
Our medical director, Charles Carpenter, MD, reviews what you already take and coordinates with your prescriber. We do not change a medication on our own.
Who sees my records?
42 CFR Part 2 protects substance use treatment records. Nothing is released to an employer, a family member or anyone else without your written consent.
What will it cost?
We are out of network with commercial PPO plans. Benefits checked the same business day, estimate in writing before your first session. Not Medicaid or Medicare today.
