For nurse support programs

Refer a nurse to a program that fits a rota.

For nurse peer support, employee health, nurse unions and nurse support program staff. Virtual intensive outpatient by secure video, evenings or mornings, so a nurse starts without giving up the roster.

You send the referral. We carry the benefit check, the assessment, the authorization, and the documentation the nurse consents to in writing.

What comes back to you

What we handle.

Referral
Two minutes on the referrer form, or call and we take it over the phone. A clinician calls you back the same business day.
The page for the nurse
Send them virtual IOP for nurses and healthcare professionals, written for the nurse rather than the referrer.
Benefit check
Free, by phone, usually the same business day. The nurse gets the number before the first appointment.
Plans we work with
Job, union and self-bought PPO plans. We are out of network with all commercial carriers. Medicaid and Medicare are not eligible for this program.
Clinical assessment
A licensed clinician completes the assessment and documents the level-of-care decision on the ASAM Criteria.
Records
Substance use records are protected under 42 CFR Part 2. No information goes to an employer without written consent.
Documentation we can provide
Attendance and clinical progress, to the recipients the nurse names in a written consent. What a monitoring program requires is that program's answer, and we say what we can document before anyone enrols.
Scope
Substance use treatment for people in California. Mental health care for members in California, New York and New Jersey.
Oversight
Medical Director Charles Carpenter, MD. ASAM 1.0, ASAM 2.1 and ambulatory withdrawal management under DHCS certification 191663AP.
An honest no
If the nurse needs a higher level than outpatient, we say so on the first call rather than taking the referral.
If someone is in crisis, call or text 988, the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline. Call 911 if there is immediate danger. Shift is an outpatient program and is not an emergency service.
Questions nurse support staff ask first

Plain answers.

What are the group times?

Evening groups run Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, 5:30 to 8:30 PM Pacific: a two-hour IOP group, then a one-hour process group. Morning groups run Monday, Tuesday and Friday, 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM Pacific. Both tracks are 9 group hours a week plus a weekly individual session. Afternoon groups are arranged at intake.

Can a nurse keep working nights?

Two tracks sit at opposite ends of the day, and a clinician moves someone between them when the rota changes. Afternoon groups are arranged at intake.

What can you document for a nurse support program?

Attendance and clinical progress, released to the recipients the nurse names in a written consent. Whether that satisfies a particular program is that program's answer, and we tell you what we can document before anyone enrols.

Does an employer get told?

No information goes to an employer without written consent. Substance use records are protected under 42 CFR Part 2.

Which insurance works for this program?

Job, union and self-bought PPO plans. We are out of network with all commercial carriers, and the benefit check is free by phone, usually the same business day. Medicaid and Medicare are not eligible for this program. Oversight sits with Medical Director Charles Carpenter, MD.
